Chef/Cook
Adelaide, SA

Our client is a well established restaurant inspired by Chinese cuisine. The Company is looking for a an experienced trade qualified cook and/or chef to prepare and cook quality food, and manage the kitchen in this great CBD location.

 

Requirements for Cook:

-AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications 

 

Requirements for Chef:

-AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications 

 

You will need extensive knowledge and experience in

- Preparation, seasoning and cooking food to hygiene regulation

- Following recipes and operating kitchen equipment 

- Exercising portion control

-Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation

- Demonstrating  an understanding of Australian food safety and HACCP 

- Stock and inventory control

- Plating and presentation skills

- Demonstration of an extensive variety of culinary techniques 

- Ability to train staff as required

 

About you:

-Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery

-Relevant experience in a premium restaurant/banquet kitchen
-Enthusiasm and creative approach to providing high-quality cuisine
-Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required within a rotating roster
-Well presented, punctual and reliable

-Be able to help to plan and develop menu's

-Ability to keep your section clean and organised with a good understanding of work flow and structure
-Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
-A passion for quality food and produce
-Own transport required

Salary for Cook: $70,000-$78,000 p.a + superannuation 

Salary for Chef: $75,000-$85,000 p.a + superannuation
