Skilled Boners / Slicers Skilled Meatworkers Based in Athol Park our client is one of Australia's leading fully integrated producers of premium kangaroo meat products. We are looking for a number of skilled, qualified, and experienced fulltime boners and slicers for our morning and afternoon shifts.
Skilled Boners/Slicers The position would involve the following duties: Operating switching controls to direct and drop carcasses and meat cuts from supply rails to boning tables. • Cutting meat to separate meat, fat and tissue from around bones. • Washing, scraping, and trimming foreign material and blood from meat. • Cutting sides and quarters of meat into standard meat cuts, such as rumps, flanks and shoulders, and removing internal fat, blood clots, bruises and other matter to prepare them for packing and marketing.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications Excellent knife skills and maintenance of personal equipment • Attention to detail • Excellent reliability, attendance and timekeeping at work • Good communication and positive teamwork • Sound problem solving capabilities, including reporting malfunctioning of equipment, or workplace health and safety issues • Ability to manage priorities to meet production schedules • Ability to work within a cold storage environment and with raw meat products • Sound understanding of Australian meat industry • Commensurate equivalent qualifications or experience with AQF Certificate III in Meat Processing (in Boning Room stream) • Fully vaccinated for Q Fever (or be willing to undergo the Q Fever vaccination process) • Must complete a Pre-employment medical functional drug and alcohol test • Minimum of 2 years of experience Remuneration This is subject to your skills, qualifications and experience but it would be within an annualised salary range of between $65,000 - $73,150 per annum + superannuation.
